Samantha Wopat dies

The death of sophomore volleyball gamer Samantha "Sam" Wopat has surprised and saddened the Stanford campus.


Ms. Wopat, 19, passed away at Stanford Healthcare center on Sunday, eight days after being taken there after what the university known as a medical emergency at her campus. She continued to be in the intensive-care device until her dying, when she was ornamented by household, buddies and teammates.


The cause of her dying was not revealed.


"We are greatly saddened by the moving past of Sam Wopat," athletic director Bob Bowlsby said. "She was an important participant of the Stanford sporting household and a remarkable student and patient."


Stanford and the volley ball system "have missing a amazing youthful lady," he said.


Ms. Wopat, regarded one of the country's top gamers at Dos Pueblos High School in Goleta (Santa Barbara County), signed up with the Stanford group truly, along with her double, Carly. An outside gamer, she did not perform much as a beginner and sophomore.


The 2011 group completed linked for 4th in the Pac-12 with a 15-7 level and was removed by Mich in the second circular of the NCAA competition. Ms. Wopat showed up in 25 places as a sophomore and averaged 1.16 eliminates per set.


She performed on this years U.S. junior national team, a year after enjoying on the youthful generation nationwide group that ran at the world competition in Thailand. She had been a participant of three  junior Olympic teams.


Besides her sis, she is lasted by her mother and father, Ron and Kathy Wopat of Santa Barbara, and youthful sibling Jackson and Eli.
